Webtoon Collab – Asic and SushiiiWithSoysauce!

Warning: This post contains spoilers for Webtoons, so read it at your own risk.

Hey everyone! So today’s post is a bit different. It’s my first collaboration post with the amazing Asic from Haven and we’ve decided to make this collaboration about webtoons! Today we will be discussing 6 different webtoons. How are you Asic?

Hi!! Iโ€™m doing good, and Iโ€™m really excited for this post. Weโ€™re going to have a lot of fun discussing things about webtoons- plots, plot twists, art styles, characters who should rot in hell and characters we need to absolutely stan!

So the first Webtoon Asic and I are going to be discussing is Unholy blood. Well originally this webtoon was called White blood but they changed it later on.

The main character is this pureblood vampire and as far as vamps go, this is kind of a rare combination. This webtoon contains quite a bit of angst and trauma, and generally reading about stuff like that would be a bit boring, but the art style and planning of the plot- makes this a really exotic read!

The art style is amazing, I really like it. It’s super unique, I’ve never seen any art styles like it. In most of my review posts I always go on about art style and animation, but this webtoons art style is different. It would be amazing if they ever adapt it into an anime.

Unholy blood never ceases to amaze me when it comes to plot twists, In one of the recent chapters when Hayan went for dinner  with the Detective, we learnt that the detective was also a vampire and secretly taking pills to stop the blood lust. I was so shook because the detective?! A vampire! He wants to eradicate the world from vampires but he himself was one! There has to be some higher idea to it, like his master plan, and why he decided to team up with Hayan…

Ah yes, if Unholy Blood were ever to be adapted into an anime- it would legit break records! Speaking of anime, and this might seem like a psychotic suggestion, #Killstagram would be the perfect freak anime if it were executed well. This webtoon actually indirectly is really educational and it really shows you not to go overboard with social media. You can be a social media star without telling you fans what you ate for dinner last night and without revealing your location lol.

I donโ€™t watch a lot of anime, but when I do- I like it to be thrilling, fast-paced with lots of plot twists and betrayals. Killstagram is perfectly psychotic, intense, with a lack of justice and rational thinking. Itโ€™s perfect to get your heart broken over, and it contains tons of stalker-ish instances. In fact thatโ€™s the actual plot of the webtoon.

This discussion about stalkers would be unjust if I donโ€™t mention the webtoon Stalker X Stalker.

Honestly, even though Stalker x Stalker is a webtoon canvas story, It’s still amazing.. When I started reading on webtoon, I never read any canvas stories, but later on my first one was Stalker x Stalker. The girl main character is stalker x stalker, Junko, gives heavy Yuno Gasai vibes from The future diary. Why? Because they are both epic yanderes! They both would kill (and I mean literally) for the one they love. But I’m not going to leave the spotlight on Junko, there is also the other MC, Yuiko.

Yuiko is also a yandere, but obviously, a male version. I think you can guess why this webtoon is called stalker x stalker, Because Yuiko and Junko both stalk each other (but later they also get together). When Yuiko sees junko talking to another boy, he gets jealous and I’m guessing you know what he does next..

Ah yes, this also brings us to Ghost Theatre. Ghost Theatre is one of those webtoons just filled with cliffhangers everywhere. Rahee, Caron, and Paddy were all great characters and made great leads. Caronโ€™s life shocked me quite a bit(itโ€™s nothing bad though!).

Though stalking isnโ€™t really a major theme in this webtoon, the repercussions of stalking really influence and show up in the grand finale. Itโ€™s the reason why Raheeโ€™s parents died and why the whole webtoon had the worst, most depressing ending ever. So if you donโ€™t want to face the wrath of webtoon stans, quit stalking!

I read ghost theatre recently, and the plot twist in it completely shook me! I was really surprised about who Caron’s real identity was. I also loved the idea for the webtoon, it was super unique.

The last webtoon Asic and I are discussing is the Remarried Empress! I think my readers know that I did a review on it in the past, which you can find here. Luckily Asic also read it. I’m not going to go too into it because I’ve already given you guys my thoughts, but I love the fact that the Remarried Empress isn’t 100% focused on the Romance part, but also has a political side to it. It makes it even more unique than it already is.. What do you think Asic?

Ah yes, I went into the webtoon filled with tons of doubts and suspicions, but the plot totally proved me wrong. Unlike Ghost Theatre which is more of a slow burn webtoon, this webtoon, despite itโ€™s political, kingdom-ish theme, progresses pretty quickly. The first 10 episodes really wash by in a blur, and by the time I knew it- Iโ€™d already finished half of it.

A character I really despised was Trashta, and Navier- the Empress was absolutely stunning. She was hands-down my fave! I love her calm, collected, no-nonsense, regal attitude. She really knew how to deal with the trashy emperor, while getting her own back. The Emperor on the other hand.. Heโ€™s not really the best guy. This webtoon has really taken itโ€™s spot as one of my faves!

Well that’s the end of our first collaboration, I hope all the readers enjoyed it, and Thank You Asic for joining me today! I’d love to do another one in the future too.

Yes! Working on this was so fun, and I hope we collab again in the future!
