I haven’t talked about manwhas or webcomics in a while now even though it’s my main source of entertainment. I read manwhas a lot, in fact, I read them more than I watch anime, Im reading a ton of them simultaneously on webtoon and episodes vary from updating weekly to 2 times a week. I read almost all of my Manwhas on Webtoon, but I’ve heard that Tappytoon has manwhas too. I wasn’t a fan of the layout of Tappytoon and how it worked, so Im sticking to just one platform for reading them. Now onto my favorite Manwhas!
Official Synopsis: Scrawny high school student Hobin Yoo is probably the last guy you’d expect to star in a NewTube channel that revolves around fighting. But after following some advice from a mysterious NewTube channel, Hobin is soon knocking out guys stronger than him and raking in more money than he could have ever dreamed of. Can Hobin keep this up, or will he eventually meet his match?
Viral Hit is my favorite Semi-Weekly Manwha, meaning it updates twice a week. Im a humongous action fan, so I knew that I was going to like this manwha right away, it was love at first sight! I can’t mention enough how much I enjoy a good action story, I’m starting to think that I talk about it every single post.
My favorite thing about Viral Hit is its relatability to real life. Hobin (The MC) fights a lot of different people who are stronger than him, but he always finds a way to overcome it. During the first couple chapters and Hobins first fight with a bully, I was expecting Hobin to have a crazy glow-up where he becomes muscular because of the action manwhas I’ve read give their main characters unrealistic glow-ups in an extremely short it.
But Viral Hit wasn’t like that at all, it kept its MC as a scrawny boy which made it very realistic to real life. It also showed how the main character was able to defeat people not using his strength but turning the opponent’s strength into his. The side characters are really cool too. I think this manwha gives a real insight into the life behind being a social media icon that we don’t see in real life.
Official Synopsis: When Chaerin Eun becomes the protagonist of the romance novel she is reading, she expects a fairytale ending with the novel’s love interest, Jeha. But when a bizarre twist makes her realize the story is not playing out as it does in the book, she’ll need the help of an unlikely character from her class to defy the new storyline and find her happy ending — if only she can figure out who this ‘Unknown Extra’ is first!
Surviving romance is a new addition to the Webtoon app with currently 15 chapters officially translated. I went into the manga with no exceptions and without reading the synopsis so I was expecting a basic Isekai’d into a Romance Novel type manwha. Boy was I wrong, I did not expect a surviving a Zombie Apocolypse type manwha!
My favorite thing about this manwha is the main character and her development. During the first couple of episodes, the main character had the mindset that she can make the entire novel go exactly how she wanted, but later after over 50 tries of trying to survive the apocalypse, she gave in and stopped trying to save people. I know it makes me seem like a cold-hearted person, but If I was in a zombie apocalypse, Id saves people who are important to me rather than people I don’t know. That’s exactly what the main character decided to do, to increase her class’s rate of surviving, she chooses to save the people in her class and not even her love interest.
Official Synopsis: There’s nothing that Yohan Do doesn’t know about his crush, Dajeong. Where she sits in class, works after school… and even where she lives. But unable to approach her, he watches her every move from afar and will do anything to protect her. Anything.
I say this a lot, but romance is my least favorite genre, I enjoy other things like adventure, action, and comedy. They usually always seem like they have the same story all the time. Its mine was a romance manwha that caught my eye, it had a uniqueness to it that made me like it. At first, it seemed like a classic stalker romance story but after getting into it, the story completely changed into a mystery psychological romance with a darker twist to it. Mysterious characters, dark backstories, and lovable characters. This romance story somehow made it into my top 10 favorite manwhas!
The Build Up
Official Synopsis: Maru Kang was just an ordinary kid with ordinary interests, until one day his father forces him to watch a soccer game on TV, sparking an obsession with the sport. Filled with determination, he sets a new goal for himself — to become an amazing soccer player! The only problem is, he has already been proclaimed the “King of the Losers” at his high school. Can Maru overcome the obstacles in his path and transform into a talented and successful soccer player?
this Manwha is also a new addition to Webtoons Manwhas and I absolutely adore it. Good sports animes, mangas, and especially Manwhas are hard to come across so Im glad that this one exists.
Despite being interesting, this manga does have its drawbacks. At the top of this post when I was talking about Viral Hit, I mentioned that a lot of manwhas give their characters insane glow-ups in a very short amount of time. I really disliked how the Main character was able to lose over 20kgs in a month! It’s very unhealthy to lose that much weight in such a short time. But then again it’s not real… That was the only drawback up till now.
