The Ackerman Clan

This post was a requested one by one my readers, And I think that the Ackerman’s are an interesting subject. We all know the world of Attack on Titan never ceases to surprise us with new theories and possibilities, and the Ackerman’s are one of the surprises. Before I start, There will be some manga spoilers, so read at your own risk.

At this point in attack on titan, there are 2 living Ackerman’s, Mikasa and Levi. Originally the Ackerman family was a bloodline of warriors that protected Eldia’s king… But after a lot of things, they were persecuted to almost extinction because they didn’t want to follow Karl fritz’s Ideology. The Ackerman clan came to be because of accidental experimentation of Titan science and subjects of Ymirs… Titans have immense strength, so they mixed that with an Eldian which caused that to create the Ackerman’s.. Humans who had the strength of a Titan.

But this can only happen when they awaken their power.. Not all Ackerman’s awaken their power, Mikasa’s father for example was just a normal person. Levi and Mikasa for example are examples of Awakened Ackerman’s. The Ackerman’s are also Immune to brainwashing by the founding titan.. When the Eldian King erased all the memories of the people in the Walls to forget what had happened, the Ackerman clan was immune to it, this is why King Fritz wanted the killed (and he succeeded at that, almost)

Ackerman’s aren’t subjects of Ymir but they can receive the Telepathic communications because of the original experimentation.

Levi Ackerman is always up top in popularity polls (I personally dont get the hype over him) mainly because of his looks.. But lets talk about his strength. Levi was born in the underground to Kuchel Ackerman then taken in by his uncle Kenny Ackerman. He learnt to fight and in that time, he awakened his Ackerman power. He is extremely good with ODM gear and the swords. He joined the survey corps automatically and didn’t go through the training. Also in the most recent chapter, 138, He was immune to turning into a titan, unlike all the other Eldians.

Mikasa isnt a pure Ackerman, she is have Asian, and Half ackerman… She also has an interesting tattoo which we later learn is the sign of her clan. She had her awakening when Eren was about to be brutally murdered, but she ended up using her Ackerman strength to kill the person instead. Her and Levi dont get along well, but when they have to, they do. She is incredibly strong and cares for her friends a lot.
